This resource looks at the importance of understanding of Workplace Health & Safety Emergency Procedures.

This learning resource has five parts that can be completed individually or grouped together depending on the target group or time allocated for the lesson.

Resources required:

Note: there are bolded notes and wording through out the lesson plan that need to be stress to students.

Introduction – Statement to class.

Activity One – Group Discussion & exercises – print off appendix 1&2, also will required students to go outside and have access to the evacuation plan for room/building?

Activity Two ‐ Group Discussion with Q&A, access to a Smartboard and appendix 3.

Activity Three ‐ Group Discussion with Q&A, access to a Smartboard and appendix 4.

Activity Four – Group Discussion with Q&A, access to a Smartboard and appendix 5.

Activity Five ‐ Understanding of knowledge check, individual exercise, you will need to print off appendix 5.

Employers have the responsibility of providing a safe workplace. Employees have the responsibility of following safety procedures.

  • Injure yourself or have a near miss
  • Have a personal issue with a workmate
  • Notice something that is unsafe or requires maintenance

Then it is your responsibility to tell your supervisor about it.
