5. Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S)

Lesson Plan – Resource ID No: EMP6

This resource Students will develop understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) issues.

This learning resource has seven parts that can be completed individually or grouped together depending on the target group or time allocated for the lesson.

Resources required:

Activity One – Introductory exercise with discussion.

Activity Two ‐ Video and Group discussion – access to Internet for video and butchers paper or a Smartboard to record reflections.

Activity Three ‐ Video, Group discussion and exercise ‐ access to Internet for video and print off appendix 1 depending on which form of exercise you use.

Activity Four – Video and Group Discussion. Access to Internet for video and print off flash cards ‐ appendix 2 (laminate for repeat use).

Activity Five ‐ Discussion – find examples of Employee Incident Reports, Risk Assessment Forms, Maintenance Request Forms from school, or workplace partner.

Activity Six ‐ Group discussion and exercise ‐ Print off exercise sheet for each student. Appendix 3.

Activity Seven ‐ Understanding of knowledge ‐ Individual exercise, you will need to print off appendix 4.
